New Year New Hair

I did it! I finally did something to my hair.  I've seriously had the same hairstyle for years and I was tired of the same look.

I also wanted somewhat of a change because I don't feel like the same person I was before my son.  Becoming a mother completely changed me.  All for the better.  My perspective is different, priorities are different and I just view life in a different way.  It is a beautiful thing.

I decided on a cut because I don't die my hair although I am thinking about it!! Eeek! I chose a mid length cut. I opted for this hair cut because it was a happy medium.  I still have length to play with but at the same time it gives me a different look than what I had.

I looove my new hair.  My hair stylist did an aaaamazing job.

As you know, it's pretty scary trusting a professional with your hair! And if you're considering this cut or any cut I'm going to give you some helpful tips that I used and can also help you get a fabulous hair cut.

1.  Do your research
Make sure you read reviews online through yelp or whatever app you use to see if this is a reliable salon.  Are clients leaving happy?  This can really help you make a decision.

2.  Take a picture
When I knew I wanted a change I was scrolling through pinterest and pinning tons of inspirational cuts.  I was searching "mid length cut".  When I told my stylist what I wanted I showed her this picture above taken from pinterest.  Taking an inspirational picture to the stylist really helps them get an idea what your looking for and they actually know what you're talking about.  If you don't take a picture it's almost like them guessing what you want.  And you may or may not end up happy with the end result.

3.  Really explain what you want done
For example, I explained to her I wanted a piecey hair cut at the ends, not so blunt.  I expressed to her that I like a face frame and I like my frame to go away from my face not inwards.  And guess what she gave me exactly what I wanted and I LOVE IT!  My hair cut is also slightly angled like in the inspirational photo.

If you're thinking about a hair cut like this DO IT! You won't regret it.  I'm having so much fun styling it different ways! Don't ever be afraid to try new things!

xoxo,
Marilu
